A USAF F-22 Raptor climbing hard during its display at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2017, RAF Fairford. The F-22 demo is one of the loudest, most physical displays on the airshow circuit — full afterburner, vertical climbs, and a level of manoeuvrability that’s hard to convey in a still image.
RIAT draws military aircraft from air forces around the world to Fairford every July, and it’s one of the few UK airshows where you’ll reliably see US frontline fighters like the Raptor flying alongside RAF and NATO aircraft.
