Avro Lancaster B Mk VII NX611 — “Just Jane” — at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, home to one of only two Lancasters in the UK still capable of taxiing under its own power. The Heritage Centre was founded by Fred and Harold Panton in memory of their brother Christopher, who was lost flying Lancasters with RAF Bomber Command, and NX611 stands today as part of that memorial.
There’s a weight to photographing this aircraft that’s different from an airshow display — it’s not about capturing motion, it’s about doing justice to what it represents.
